Description

In this third book in the Wise Oak series, the story splits to follow the heroes on their different paths. Blyth crosses a frozen landscape searching for the woman he loves, while Teague and Abbon embark on a quest in search of strange exotic creatures. Gwenn and Epona become involved in the Spartacan slave revolt against the Roman Republic, and Kaito must try to catch up with Blyth and help him overcome the mental demons given to him by the gods. Magical realism and fantasy set against a historically accurate backdrop of 1st Century BCE Britain, Scandinavia, Gaul, Rome, and Egypt.

Book one is Children of the Wise Oak, book two is Women of the Wise Oak.

A note from the author, me. “This book took far too long to write as I agonised over the complexity of the plot and tried to ensure I got my facts as right as I could. I read a lot around the subject, fiction and non-fiction, and some of those influences came through but, honestly, the end result is easily the best in the series in my opinion.
The body count is high …  My editor nearly sent me hate-mail over one death in particular, but no spoilers. Suffice to say, they had to die for plot reasons and I didn’t enjoy it.”
