Description
Jimmy Blackbridge is a deckhand, sailing trawlers out of Brixham, Devon 1912-1914. He is engaged to Alice Rogers. At sea, time and tide are the masters and you know your bearings. But on shore Jimmy discovers he is adrift. There is no almanac for the currents that run through the town and if you run foul they break you.
This is the story of loss, love, and the struggle to earn a living in the coming shadow of the Great War.
Praise for A Spring Marrying.
“…bursting with nerve and verve. A historical novel that brings the past alive in human terms and in striking depth.”
Angela Graham, author of A City Burning
